Short Notice Trip

On a Thursday morning, Jim & Phyllis Schumm had an idea to take a run to the new Split Window Diner in Fountain Hills, near Scottsdale. Saturday was suggested, an e-mail sent out, and 14 Corvettes showed up for this short notice trip. 'A beautiful
drive, taking all back roads; and, before we knew it, we were there.

The interior of the Diner is all Corvette: banners, signs, posters, and die-cast cars. Each table has four pictures of different Corvette years with a question about each year and the answer in the corner. The menu has items such as T-Tops - fried mushrooms, Steering Wheels - onion rings, Side Exhaust - cheese sticks, LT-1 - chicken club, and on and on.
The owner, Dave Jindra, provided everyone with raffle tickets and raffled off several items
including a 1963 die cast Corvette. Before we left, Dave took pictures of all members with their Corvettes which he plans on posting to a Corvette bulletin board. Our club donated one of our new Club throws, which Dave assured us he would hang on a wall even if he had to remove what's there.

The group enjoyed themselves and I'm sure we'll make another trip to the Spilt Window Diner.
